Community organizing helps people overcome cultural  and economic barriers to civic participation by linking them to deeply  held values around children, families, and community.</p>

<p><img src="http://paulswickfamilycenter.com/gallery/d/651-2/neighborhood.JPG" width="150" align="left" height="113" />Leadership training &#8211; Neighborhood Leadership Academy &#8211; critical to the success of any community improvement effort is the effective leadership of key residents who can guide neighbors in community wide decision making.</p>
<p>A newly formed Neighborhood Leadership Academy, part of<img src="http://paulswickfamilycenter.com/gallery/d/654-2/neighborhood_2_.JPG" width="150" align="right" height="113" /> the Vista Loma Neighborhood Network, is up and running and you are invited to participate! Monthly meetings are held in english and spanish. Presentation topics are: activating the leader in you; asset building, presentation skills, town hall 101, managing conflict and personality styles; neighborhood <img src="http://paulswickfamilycenter.com/gallery/d/657-2/neighborhood_3_.JPG" width="150" align="left" height="113" />watch and crime prevention; problem solving and event organizing.
