The Paul Swick Family Center is a resource center designed to provide a variety of services and programs specifically for families at Yucca Loma School. Services include basic needs resources (clothing, food, and health care), language learning programs for English and Spanish, job readiness classes, literacy programs, community organizing, community gardening, parenting classes, mentoring, Healthy Families insurance enrollment, and other community connections, to name a few. Community support and partnerships enhance the availability of offerings to our families.
Our Mission
We envision a community that works together to ensure all families are given opportunities to grow physically, spiritually, culturally, and emotionally. A community in which safe, clean and drug free neighborhoods are home to children living in supportive and safe family situations. In this community, schools serve as the centers of lifelong learning, setting high standards and challenging children and adults to achieve their highest potential.
Our History
The Paul Swick Family Center provides a safe, comfortable place for all types of families to share concerns, enjoy time together, and expand their knowledge.
Since 1998 we have provided dozens of activities, support programs, classes and services for the families of Yucca Loma Elementary School students in Apple Valley, California. A groundbreaking approach to elementary education and family support, the Center is located on campus, immediately accessible to students, teachers and families.
