Our newsletter for the web site will now be updated on a seasonal basis with the Summer issue being the first one.
While school is winding down, activities and programs for the Family Center are gearing up for summer and for our Fall school calendar that begins August 3, 2009.
Thanks to some recent funding provided by Kaiser Permanente, SUMMER SPLASH! Family Pool events will be taking place monthly beginning this month! These family events allow all Yucca Loma family members to enjoy a two hour free swim on the weekend. With our desert heat, these events are a hit!
Another healthy activity taking place in June will be the installation of a new fitness course to be installed at Yucca Loma Park through a partnership with funding from The Community Foundation, installation and maintenance support from The Town of Apple Valley and BEST BUY employees and support from the Apple Valley Unified School District. Our hope is that this fitness course will be a nice addition to the Vista Loma Neighborhood and that residents will find the course to be a fun way to get some exercise!
Staying with our healthy living theme is also the activity that is taking place in our garden 
with the growth of many fruits and vegetables. Squash, tomatoes, apples, peaches, broccoli, radishes, and corn, to name a few, are growing and growing! Families will soon be able to enjoy this fresh produce! Watch our garden grow this summer!
