The Paul Swick Family Center is designed to provide a variety of programs, services, and resources, specifically, for families of students attending Yucca Loma School. The purpose of our center is to create a welcoming environment for our families and engage both the family and the community in ways that support student achievement and success.
Our center is open each school day and on a variety of evenings and Saturdays for family events. To receive a monthly calendar of activities or to access computers and other resources of the center, stop in at any time. We can also email you a monthly calendar, if you’d like.
Following is a sampling of some of the services and activities available to families:
FAMILY NEEDS
Emergency support (food, clothes, utilities), crisis management, counseling resources, Operation School Bell, clothing donation program, homeless support.
HEALTH & NUTRITION
Gardening, food giveaways, Bodyworks nutrition classes, family health information, parenting, Breathmobile (asthma), Kid’s Pack backpacks, weekly produce, Harvest of the Month, cooking.
EDUCATION
Family literacy, homework help, job skills, GED/diploma, life skills, language learning (2nd language), job resources, general computer/internet use, special interest topics (couponing, family budgets etc.)
